    Kumar's areas of interest include the management of information systems, systems development, CASE and databases. He has published several articles on organization of computing in organizations and on methods and tools for information systems development. Kumar is also a certified general accountant and has worked in the area of accounting application of information systems. Prior to joining GSU, he had an appointment at University of Waterloo. He has worked with the city of Toronto, Mcmaster University, Consumers Gas Co. of Toronto, The Canada Permanent Trust Co. and the Burroughs Computer Co. in various information systems and accounting positions.
