Policy
Faculty must maintain accurate and current records of student performance and afford students the opportunity to review these records. These records may not be disclosed, even anonymously, without the written permission of the student. Student records must be properly destroyed when no longer required. (44 words)
Rationale and Procedure
Privacy principles dictate that TCC must exercise due care with the personal student information it holds. It must be high quality and confidential. Students have the right to review their personal information and challenge any errors. Faculty should explain what personal information will be held for their course, including grades, and how students may obtain access to their information. Faculty must seek permission from students before disclosing any information, including the posting of grades. Student course records should not be held longer than two years, and must be destroyed by shredding. (91 words)
